Helderberg Pre-School
The philosophy of the Helderberg Pre-School is to encourage the development of the whole child; the child's intelligence, creativity, curiosity, self-esteem, sociability and a sense of spiritual and emotional well-being.
Meet the Pre-School Staff
- Stacey Snyder has taught at the Helderberg Pre-School for 20 years. She earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Maria College in Albany, NY. Stacey lives in Altamont with her husband and her 2 daughters. She enjoys walking her dog and reading.
- Nancy Caruso has been the Teacher's Aide for 30 years, since the opening of the Helderberg Pre-School. She resides in Altamont with her husband and has a daughter. She enjoys gardening and bird watching.
Pre-School is from 9:00 to 11:30 each morning.
- The 3 year old class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- The 4 year old class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Here is a sample of the daily schedule for both age groups:
9:00 to 9:40 - Free Play
9:40 to 10:10 - Circle Time
10:10 to 10:20 - Wash hands and Music
10:20 to 10:40 - Snack
10:40 to 11:10 - Project (small motor skills)
11:10 to 11:30 - Outside (large motor skills activity)
